AI Tools Weekly (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website builtwithclaude.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services, including our AI Tool Comparison Generator.

By using our website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Email address — When you subscribe to our newsletter or submit your email through our comparison tool, we collect the email address you provide.
  • IP address — We automatically collect your IP address to enforce rate limiting on our comparison tool (limited to 10 requests per hour per IP address). IP addresses are used solely for rate-limiting purposes and are not stored long-term or linked to personal profiles.
  • Usage data — We collect information about how you interact with our site, including the AI tool names you enter into our comparison generator, pages visited, and general browsing behavior.
  • Star ratings — When you submit a star rating for an AI tool comparison, we store that rating along with a session identifier to prevent duplicate submissions.
  • Browser and device information — Standard information such as browser type, operating system, and screen resolution may be collected through server logs and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide our services — Your tool name inputs are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate AI-powered comparisons. We cache comparison results for 24 hours to improve performance.
  • To send newsletters — If you subscribe, we use your email address to send you our weekly newsletter with AI tool reviews, updates, and recommendations.
  • To enforce rate limits — Your IP address is used to prevent abuse of our free comparison tool by limiting requests to 10 per hour.
  • To improve our site — Aggregate usage data and ratings help us understand which tools are most popular and how to improve our content.
  • To display relevant content — We may use browsing patterns to recommend relevant reviews and comparisons.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under the following legal bases as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Consent — We rely on your explicit consent when you voluntarily sign up for our newsletter, submit your email through our comparison tool, or otherwise provide personal information. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us.
  • Legitimate interest — We process certain data based on our legitimate interests, including website analytics and performance monitoring, site optimization, and maintaining the security and integrity of our services. These interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
  • Contract performance — Processing is necessary to provide you with the services you request, including generating AI tool comparisons through our comparison tool and delivering cached results.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — When you use our comparison tool, the AI tool names you enter are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate comparison content. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. We do not send any personal information (such as your email or IP address) to Anthropic.
  • Google Fonts — Our site loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. When you visit our site, your browser makes a request to Google’s servers, which may log your IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
  • Beehiiv — If configured, newsletter email addresses may be forwarded to Beehiiv for email delivery and subscriber management. See Beehiiv’s Privacy Policy.
  • Hostinger — Our website is hosted on Hostinger’s servers. Hostinger may collect server logs that include IP addresses and request data. See Hostinger’s Privacy Policy.
  • Affiliate partners — Our site contains affiliate links to AI tool providers (such as Jasper, Copy.ai, Grammarly, Writesonic, Pictory, and Surfer SEO, among others). When you click an affiliate link, you are directed to the partner’s website, which may set its own cookies and collect data according to its own privacy policy. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through these links, at no additional cost to you.
